Ceramic Coating Restoration Kit
Description
Dock Boxes Unlimited's Restoration Kit is a Do-It-Yourself Ceramic Coating kit that will restore your Dock Boxes' gel coat to a better-than-new shine. Starting with Nano Wash and ending with Marine Ceramic Coating, this kit provides you with everything you need to prepare and ceramic coat your dock box.Developed, tested, and proven in South Florida, one of the toughest marine environments anywhere, ceramic coating is a unique process that creates a high-performance surface using nano-ceramic materials. This process has undergone extensive field testing on all types of watercraft in extreme weather conditions by accredited laboratories and has been shown to offer these benefits even under the harshest conditions in marine applications.SCIENCE BEHIND THE SHINE At Dock Boxes Unlimited, we have been focused on developing dock box surface protection solutions for several years. Based on our extensive experimentation and testing, we have developed the right combination of components, along with a proprietary application process that allows us to protect a new or used dock box to the same surface conditions as the day it left the factory.Nano-ceramic coating is the result of an application where actual nano-ceramic particles form a consistent network of molecules on a surface. This process makes the surface resistant to extreme corrosion, chemicals, and UV radiation. It also restores color, gloss, and surface hardness. Additionally, the surface becomes hydrophobic and repels water and dirt, making it easy to clean with a hose.Once applied, Dock Boxes Unlimited's Marine Ceramic Coating will continue to preserve the surface of your dock box for up to 18 months with minimal effort. The Ceramic Coating Retoration Kit comes with:- 4 – 4 oz. bottles of concentrated cleaning and restoration solution
- 1 – 50 ml. bottle of Marine Ceramic Coating
- 2 - soft sponges
- 2 - microfiber cloths
- Step-by-Step Instruction Card

APPLICATION STEPS- Remove extensive staining and dirt by pre-washing before moving to Step 2 - Nano Wash. If pre-washing, use a degreaser or heavy detergent. Rinse the box thoroughly with water.
- Add 2 to 4 ounces of Nano Wash in a 5 gallon bucket of water. Then use a soft to medium brush to wash the entire box removing all dirt, salt, and stains. Once complete, use a chamois or towel to dry the entire box.
- Before proceeding with Step 3, make sure all surfaces are clean and free of any dirt. Use Nano Compound and a machine buffer, or Dual Action Polisher, with medium cut foam or wool pad. This step should remove sun damage, oxidation, and most surface scratches. Note: Use medium speed and medium pressure for best results. The entire box should have a smooth uniform finish before moving to the next step. Repeat this step if there is still noticeable oxidation or fading on the surface.
- In Step 4, use Nano Polish with a machine buffer, or Dual Action Polisher and a light cutting/polishing foam or wool pad. This step will enhance the shine and remove any swirl marks, and light scratches. If necessary, repeat the process a second time, to make sure all imperfections have been removed.
- For Step 5, we will use Surface Wipe to decontaminate the surface. It is recommended that protective gloves be worn for the remainder of the coating process. Apply Surface Wipe directly to a clean microfiber towel and wipe down any areas to be coated. This process will decontaminate the surface, removing any oils or residue left over from the surface preparation. Repeat if necessary. Note: If the box has excess dust from the compound preparation a light wash with Nano Wash may be necessary before using the Surface Wipe.
- Apply 5-10 drops of Marine Ceramic Coating to the Application Pad provided in the kit. Using light to medium pressure, apply the ceramic coating to a 3’ by 3’ section, working in a side-to-side, then up-and-down pattern. Ensure the entire area is covered. Allow the coating to dwell on the surface for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Once the coating begins to sweat on the surface (it will appear as little beads or droplets on the surface) begin to buff the coating in by hand, with a clean microfiber cloth. Apply medium pressure while buffing, feeling as if you are massaging the coating into the pores of the surface. Follow up with a second microfiber cloth to ensure the entire area is uniform and free of any high spots or excess coating. Continue this process across the entire dock box, overlapping each section as you go. It is highly recommended that you apply 2 coats of the Marine Ceramic Coating for optimal protection and durability. Allow a minimum of 1 hour between the first and second coat. The Marine Ceramic Coating will fully cure in 24 hours. Do not wash with soap for 7 days. If rain occurs during the curing time, ensure the box is dried with a microfiber cloth as soon as possible after the rain.
