Level 2 AC chargers (like the Eaton ChargePoint CT4000 and CPF50) typically deliver 7–19 kW of power, adding 20–30 miles of range per hour of charge. They’re ideal for overnight charging, workplace parking lots, and multifamily residential properties where vehicles sit for several hours. DC fast chargers (like the Eaton ChargePoint Express 250, 280, and Express Plus) deliver significantly higher output adding 100–200+ miles of range in 20–30 minutes. DC fast chargers are the right choice for commercial fleets, public fueling stations, and anywhere cars need to turn over quickly.
Which Eaton ChargePoint charger is best for a commercial fleet?
It depends on how fast you need to turn vehicles around. For fleets that need overnight charging, Level 2 solutions like the CPF50 or CP6000 Series are cost-effective and widely deployed. For fleets that need vehicles back on the road within an hour, the Express 250, Express 280 (with Dynamic Power Sharing), or Express Plus DC fast chargers are the better fit.
